About Us – Welcome to Nordic Light Region

Nordic Light Region is the home of women across the Nordic countries who share a passion for barbershop singing. Here, music, community, and personal growth come together to create something truly special.

With open minds and a willingness to evolve, we develop our music through education, personal development, and inspiring performances.

We are proud to be part of Sweet Adelines International, one of the world’s largest and most respected music education organizations for women.

A Region Full of Energy and Opportunity

From north to south, our region brings together both choruses and quartets — around 800 singers who form a vibrant, supportive, and creative network.

We are dedicated to offering meaningful opportunities for musical and personal growth, while raising public awareness of the unique art form of barbershop harmony.

Join Today – Your Voice Has a Place Here

Whether you’re drawn to the close-knit connection of quartet singing, the powerful unity of a chorus, or both, Nordic Light Region welcomes you.

As a member, you’ll receive support, encouragement, and inspiration - whether your goal is to sing on the risers, perform in your community, or compete on the international stage. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, ages, and professions, yet we are all connected through the joy of singing.

We sing a cappella in four-part barbershop style. When all four voice parts align perfectly in pitch and rhythm, something magical happens — the chord produces a shimmering overtone that “rings.”

Come Sing With Us!

The best (and most fun!) way to discover barbershop is to visit a chorus near you. Many quartets are also part of choruses, so even if quartet singing is your dream, a chorus visit is the perfect first step.

Click Find a Chorus in the menu to locate a group near you. Reach out by phone or email - they can’t wait to welcome you!
